Global Textile Scheme
Global Textile Scheme GmbH founded and manages an initiative of well-known IT providers and companies from the entire textile value chain, joining their forces to develop the new GTS standard. GTS is a uniform industry standard for all textile value chains and provides a simple and inexpensive basis for efficient data exchange from fiber to recycling.
GTS provides:
Speed (Highly automated exchange of all relevant data; Significant reduction of manual work & Massive reduction of personnel and interface costs).
Security (High data quality and transparency; Consistent and up-to-date product data & Easy implementation in existing systems - also for SMEs without own webservice).
Flexibility (For all company sizes; Extendable packages as needed; Continuous further development of the standard & Development of new distribution channels).
Sustainability (Completely transparent database on origin and product features;
Simple certificate management; Easy compliance with legal requirements &
Basis for automated exchange of sustainability data).
With its unique end to end product data model insights and cloud-based toolset, GTS is the Sector Lead Textile and supports the project management and contributes specifically in the following :
Classification systems structures/ standards in Textile chains: GTS helps with its new classification system, to create the critical semantic prerequisite for automated data exchange along textile value chains – from fiber to recycling. Enabling this automated approach is critical, as 99% of all players in the EU textile field are SMEs who don’t have the resources, to manually generate the data, needed for the DPP.
Standards & Interoperability: GTS with its multilingual, machine readable catalogue of relevant data as a cornerstone and starting point, will be an important reference when evaluating DPP and will secure the success of the CIRPASS project with its tight timeline of 18 months.
