Wargön Innovation

Wargön Innovation is an innovation hub for sustainable and circular textiles and biomaterials. We support small and medium-sized enterprises in developing and scaling their innovations, in partnerships with large companies, academia, institute, public sector and more. Based in Vänersborg, Sweden, Wargön Innovation offers an unique research and development facility for industrial sorting and valuation of textiles, including a complete demo-scale production system.

In the CISUTAC consortium, Wargön Innovation is the lead of WP1 “Technical aspects which includes the technical development to be demonstrated in the pilots of WP4. Within WP1 Wargön Innovation is specifically responsible for task 1.2 “Digitally enhanced textile sorting for reuse and recycling” where a decision support tool (DST) will be developed, primarily for operator assistance when sorting for reuse. The tool will be based on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) with the purpose to retain as much as possible of the reuse and repair value of post-consumer textiles.
